Quiz

Quiz is a high drive, excitable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Yes, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel!). He loves agility but is equally happy running on the farm with his stable mates or curling up on a lap at home in true Cavalier fashion. Before arriving in the U.S., Quiz had competed in most major U.K finals including Crufts for the last three years running. Quiz was also a member of the British Agility Small Dog Team in 2003 in France, and in Italy in 2004. Since arriving in America in December 2004, Quiz and Lynne have worked their way into Excellent level AKC (gaining his MX and MXJ titles) and Masters level USDAA competitions. They have qualified for the Dog Agility Masters (DAM) team event three times, most recently being a member of the winning team at a local qualifier. He has also qualified for the USDAA steeplechase and the quarterfinals of the USDAA Grand Prix three times. He competed in Arizona at the USDAA Nationals in 2005 and has qualified to do so again this year. At the recent AKC Nationals, Quiz completed a phenomenal weekend by finishing up as the highest placed Cavalier King Charles Spaniel at the show, coming 24th out of approximately 200 dogs competing in the 12 inch division.

Chess

With many UK wins under his belt, Lynne’s Border Collie Chess is now working his way up the ranks in America. Following an injury in the U.K., he began his U.S. agility career a little later than expected. However, so far he has achieved Excellent status in AKC competition and has qualified for the USDAA Nationals twice, reaching the semi-finals of the National USDAA Grand Prix in 2005 and 2007.

Turbo

Turbo, Lynne and Pete’s youngest Border Collie has now reached the ripe old age of two years. He is a joy to own and train and, like the rest of his family, is already showing a natural flair for agility, which he loves. So far he only has about four agility trials under his belt, but in that short time has managed a few Novice wins in AKC and Starters wins in USDAA. He also qualified to compete at the USDAA Regional competition in the Grand Prix, by coming 2nd in a local qualifier. We hope to be able to get to more trials in the fall and will let you know how he continues to progress.

Taco

Our latest addition! Yes, another Cavalier King Charles Spaniel!! Well, we do love them, whether they love agility or not. Taco, however, seems to be following in his Great Grandmother Jet and Uncle Quiz’s footsteps so far. At just 7 months old, he loves his clicker games and will fly through a tunnel and jump wings at speed. So far, we are managing to keep up his enthusiasm for toys (his natural inclination is to do anything for food! Typical Cavalier!!). At the moment, he will tug with the best of our B/Cs (even on the other end of their toy at times!). As you can see, he is a wonderful character and we hope to be able to inform you of his agility successes in the future. Meanwhile, he is just happy being a puppy and discovering how much fun there is to be had in the world.

Trio

Trio was destined to be another agility cavalier, but he had other ideas in England. In America, however, he is now enjoying playing agility with his junior handler, Monica. Together they have already achieved success at their first NADAC trial and hope to make their debut in AKC soon. Trio also loves to sit on laps, cuddle and generally enjoy a more typical Cavalier King Charles Spaniel life. He also plays another important role here at DogLogic in helping to reassure clients' dogs who may be a little nervous at first. He shows them that there is nothing to be afraid of when he is around.

Visa

Visa earned her name as she joined the family just as Lynne and Pete received their visa to move to the United States. She particularly enjoys rounding up all the other members of the pack – just to make sure they all stay safe. These days she enjoys partnering with one of Lynne’s students at DogLogic. So far she has qualified at the Starter level in NADAC trials and is soon to make her debut in AKC. Visa is enjoying working with David and hopes to do well as her confidence increases.

Scratch

Now 16 years old, Scratch is enjoying a well-earned retirement at home. Scratch, a rescue Border Collie, is still active and enjoys playing with all members of our extended pack. In his youth Scratch achieved many 2nd places in large British classes of approximately 250 agility dogs. Just narrowly missing the title of Senior Dog for which he would have had to come in 1st twice!

Nicson

Nicson suddenly and tragically died just before the trip to America. Quiz’s brother, another high-drive Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Nicson also represented Great Britain at the 2003 World Championships in France. He was in the Medium Dog Team that finished 5 th in the world that year. Pete and Nicson also earned 2 nd place two years running at the Crufts Eukanuba Mini Dog Challenge and 3 rd place two years running in the Pedigree finals. Nicson also loved racing across the open meadows with his friends and, like all Cavaliers, also loved a cuddle. He will be with us in our hearts forever.

Jet

Quiz, Nicson and Tess' mum. We sadly lost Jet in December 2005 at the age of 12 years. Jet also qualified for most U.K finals including Olympia in 1996. She enjoyed a long and happy retirement on the farm in North Carolina. Rest in peace my special friend.

Tag

Tag, a gray and black rescue Border Collie, has had his ups and downs over the years. Despite his rough start, after much patience and no demands, he decided to give agility a try. These days he is a super fast agility competitor at Masters and Excellent level with his MAD title in USDAA. He loves nothing more than to get out there with his teammate, Jennifer (Karen and Kevin’s daughter). Demon on the course and softy at home, that's our Tag.

Tess

Tess, a littermate to Quiz, is a wonderful little tri-color Cavalier who enjoys snuggling on a warm, comfy lap, hunting in the woods, doing tricks and running in agility. She has her USDAA MAD title and her MX and MXJ with AKC. She has qualified several times for the USDAA nationals but has never been there to compete, as she simply hates running in the heat.

True

True is a feisty little blenheim Cavalier who takes after her grandmother, Jet, in many ways, including the noise she makes when she’s really excited about something. True loves to do tricks, run in the fields with the big dogs and cuddle up with Kevin at home. She competes at Masters level in USDAA and Exc Jumpers, Open Standard, AKC. It just wouldn't be the same around here without our little comedienne and boy does she know it.

Cheyenne

With only one day to live before her scheduled euthanasia, Cheyenne, (an eighteen month old GSD.) came to us via an e-mail from the humane society, innocently opened by Kevin at work. Since her arrival at DogLogic, when she had little idea that the name on her collar belonged to her, she has proven herself to have both beauty and brains. She enjoys agility, learning tricks, going for long walks and searching for things I have dropped along the way. Cheyenne's most challenging task is to make up for her lack of socialization with other animals. We spend any spare moments taking her out to meet other dogs, people, noises and situations. I particularly enjoy our trips to Starbucks and the Wal Mart parking lot. She is a great teacher and has already helped me to help quite a few owners with dogs in her situation. Agility competition is in the five year plan, never say never.
